The Fraternity just celebrated its 10th Anniversary of its rechartering over the weekend. The chapter was dissolved in the mid 1990's and was recolonized in 1999. But it was in Spring 2001 that the chapter was officially rechartered.
Also in the summer of 2008 the national fraternity celebrated its 150th Anniversary at the national convention, Karnea. The Fraternity was officially started in 1858, at Bethany College in response to another group of student organization rigging events so that only its members could win.
Strengthening Community is Essential to our Vitality, and that is why Delta Tau Delta participates in the Adopt-a-School afterschool program both on national and local levels. Theta Eta has partnered with Dent Middle School in Columbia,SC to provide chaperones for school trips, and mentoring students. Heidi Collar, wife of Theta Eta Alumnus Bobby Collar, works at the school and coordinates volunteer activities through the school's music program.
